Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What experience level does my child need to join Sierra Strong?

A: Some climbing experience is best! But, we welcome beginners who have a great attitude and are willing to work hard to acquire skills.

Q: How do the punch passes work?

A: Punch passes track your child's attendance. Sign up for your days ahead of time or the day before if spots are available. Each time your child attends a session, we'll mark off one "punch." You're required to commit to a minimum of 5 days, with the option to attend up to the full 20 days of the program.

Q: How do you handle transportation to climbing sites?

A: We meet at a central location in South Lake Tahoe and provide transportation to various local climbing areas. Parents are welcome to follow in their own vehicles or arrange carpools with other families.

Q: What type of mental training is included?

A: Our holistic approach includes mental conditioning exercises to enhance focus, reduce fear, and build confidence. The mental fitness drills cover breathing mechanics, anxiety control, positive reinforcement, and mindfulness techniques for climbers.

Q: What safety measures are in place?

A: Safety is our top priority. We maintain a 5:1 student-to-coach ratio, all staff are certified in Wilderness First Aid, and we follow industry-standard safety protocols. All climbing areas are carefully selected for appropriate challenge levels.

Q: What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?

A: We have the best backup plans for inclement weather, our training center at Adventure Fit Dojo in Zephyr Cove, Nevanda.

Meet Your Coach

Hi, I'm Zach Fletcher

I love helping kids discover the amazing world of climbing. Before finding climbing, I spent 5 years teaching kids to ski and compete in moguls (those bumpy snow hills!).

My passion for teaching led me to become a head coach at a climbing gym, where I created fun programs empowering hundreds of young climbers to succeed in the vertical world.

My passion for teaching led me to become a head coach at a climbing gym, where I created fun programs empowering hundreds of young climbers to succes in the vertical world.

Now, with my own 3-year-old son, I get to share the joy of climbing with a new generation.

At Adventure Fit Dojo, we use climbing as a vehicle for physical and mental growth, helping young climbers develop confidence, strength, and problem-solving skills while having tons of fun.

If you want your kiddo to thrive in the vertical world, we make it happen.
